ChapterChairperson and PATA Industry Council member Mrs GloriaKeller-Henderson presented the Outstanding Senior in Tourism Award tothe University of Hawaii School of Travel Industry Management studentMs Xiangru Clara Tang. The PATA Hawaii Chapter sponsored the award,which was among several presented to students and faculty at the 38thAnnual University of Hawaii TIM Night, March 9, 2005.

TheChapter recently hosted two lunch events, which focused on hot topicsin the US state's tourism industry. The Hawaii Tourism Authority(HTA)'s Tourism Strategic Plan: 2005-2015, which includes a series ofinitiatives aimed at promoting environmentally-responsible andculturally-sensitive tourism development, was the topic of the March 23lunch. The April 13 event featured a panel of speakers who discussedthe proliferation and impacts of timeshare and vacation club activity.The Chapter's next lunch event is the June 30 "Airline Panel",1200-1330 at the Hawaii Prince Hotel, Waikiki.
