Founded in Hawaii in 1951, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) continues to be the leading authority, advocate and catalyst for the development of Asia Pacific's travel and tourism industry.
PATA's uniquely structured organization has helped unite the many facets of tourism in the region. PATA provides leadership and advocacy to the collective efforts of nearly 100 government, state and city tourism bodies, more than 55 airlines and cruise lines, and hundreds of travel industry companies. In addition, thousands of travel professionals belong to more than 70 PATA chapters worldwide.
As a tourism organization, the PATA-Hawaii Chapter is unique as it brings together all facets of the travel industry under one umbrella in Hawaii. This is reflected in the diversity of its membership, which includes travel professionals from:
* travel agencies * tour wholesalers and operators * air carriers * attractions and activities
* government * advertising * education * publishing * consulting
Such diversity in membership presents outstanding networking opportunities to exchange ideas, develop strategic alliances and stay on the cutting edge of the fastest growing and most dynamic tourism region in the world.
The PATA-Hawaii Chapter membership includes over 100 individual professionals and 54 industry companies. Bi-monthly business luncheons feature guest speakers who are leaders in their field. This benefit allows membership to stay current with important issues affecting the travel and tourism industry in Hawaii and the Pacific.
