Brewbaker is Senior Vice President and Chief Economist withBank of Hawaii where his responsibilities include research on financialand economic risk, working in the bank's Treasury. He received hisbachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University and hisdoctorate in economics from the University of Hawaii. Brewbaker didgraduate work and lectured both at the University of Wisconsin and atthe University of Hawaii. He began doing research in The InternationalBanking Division at Bank of Hawaii as a student in 1981 and joined theBank's Economics Department as an economist in 1985. Brewbaker is adirector of the Hawaii Economic Association, a member of the AmericanEconomic Association, and Chair of the Hawaii Council on Revenues.
